Choosing the right insulation of coil ends is from varios points of view the most important part in the development of insulating system. Insulation of coil ends must not withstand only stresses in complex operating conditions and unpredictable operating condition uptime, but it is also strongly stressed during manufacture of the winding. Leaving aside the traditionally tough insulating system Samicatherm®, there are today a number of tough ,flexible or semi flexible materials, which may be selected so as to satisfy constructors.
Usually exists between the main insulations and insulation of the coil ends tapered or stepped transition, while the trend towards wrapping machine has the result that the coil ends are insulated with material Samicatherm® and the ' noses' of coils are insulated with flexible tape.
