Samicafilm® is cost-effective mica tape designed for insulation of wires. Samicafilm® is consists of mica paper Samica®, which is impregnated with epoxy resin,and of polyester foil as carrier material. Samicafilm® is used for tread insulation of wires for high-voltage machines,for low-voltage machines,which are supplied from semiconductor converters, and for highly stressed traction machines.
Insulation of wires separates neighboring wires of one coil. Insulation has got a big impact on the total size of the coil, because one coil consists of several coil windings. From design view is required the smalest thickness of insulation. Nevertheless must be coil during manufacture and during operation resistant to many electrical and mechanical influences.
